01
Compartment isolation
Keep unrelated parts of a person’s digital life cryptographically and operationally separated.
A mobile security architecture designed to prevent one unlocked device or compromised context from exposing every part of a person’s digital life.
The premise
Mobile Cipher separates sensitive contexts into independently protected compartments. Unlocking the phone does not automatically authorize every compartment, object, application, or cryptographic key.
What it is
The project is designed around separate compartments for contexts such as private life, finances, work, travel, emergencies, and anonymous activity.
Each compartment is intended to maintain independent keys, data, identities, permissions, backup rules, and access policies so compromise does not automatically spread across contexts.
Development begins with Android. The long-term direction is a NightFall-controlled mobile platform, with cross-platform support pursued only where operating-system boundaries can be enforced honestly.
Architecture
01
Keep unrelated parts of a person’s digital life cryptographically and operationally separated.
02
Release access only for the exact compartment, object, application, or operation authorized.
03
Working authority and keys should expire when the approved operation ends.
04
Give each compartment its own permissions, identity, backup, recovery, and expiration rules.
05
Begin where deeper platform control can be developed and evaluated.
06
Key-management and enforcement mechanisms are not publicly disclosed.
Evidence
Current state
Defined
The core compartment, authorization, and key-lifecycle boundaries have been documented.
Android first
Initial engineering is scoped to the Android platform.
Independent
Each protected context is designed to retain separate data, identity, and policy.
Early stage
The project is an active architecture, not a released mobile product.
Results describe preserved controlled tests and their defined scope. They do not convert unfinished long-term objectives into completed capabilities.
Boundaries
Original work
Compartmentalized security and isolated mobile profiles have substantial prior art. NightFall Technologies considers Mobile Cipher’s complete authorization, key-lifecycle, identity, and compartment policy architecture proprietary, with detailed implementation reserved for confidential review.
Our approach to originalityCompany-wide governance
Product-specific capability does not override owner authority, neutral operation, transparent updates, accountable use, or the prohibition on hidden vendor control.
