The premise
Counterfactual Skill Crystallization is native to the NightFall Mimetic Cognitive Fabric. It is intended to preserve useful learned structures without introducing a central model, permanent agent, hidden coordinator, or uncontrolled self-modification.
What it is
The research explores how a temporary cognitive structure that repeatedly succeeds under controlled evaluation could be preserved as a bounded blueprint for later reconstruction.
Any future implementation must remain subordinate to explicit validation, rollback, quarantine, expiry, provenance, and owner-controlled promotion boundaries.
Its internal lifecycle, algorithms, formats, and implementation methods remain confidential NightFall Technologies intellectual property.

- A cognitive crystal is a bounded blueprint—not an agent, model, coordinator, or permanent process.
- Candidate structures remain untrusted until their required validation boundaries are satisfied.
- Authorized security testing may challenge candidates but may not promote or deploy them.
- No connected NightFall system may automatically propagate crystals or rewrite the trusted Cognitive Genome.
- Public descriptions intentionally exclude reproducible technical detail.
