The premise
Counterfactual Skill Crystallization is native to the NightFall Mimetic Cognitive Fabric. It is intended to preserve useful learned structures without introducing a central model, permanent agent, hidden coordinator, or uncontrolled self-modification.
What it is
The research explores how a temporary cognitive structure that repeatedly succeeds under controlled evaluation could be preserved as a bounded blueprint for later reconstruction.
The initial Phase 18 pilot completed validation under explicit candidate, trust, rollback, quarantine, retirement, and regeneration boundaries.
The validated pilot remains positioned for broader integration through future Mimetic Cognitive Fabric phases.
Its internal lifecycle, algorithms, formats, and implementation methods remain confidential NightFall Technologies intellectual property.
